Managing Consultant

Morris is a creative, entrepreneurial, and culturally agile data-driven leader who thrives in highly dynamic, unpredictable, and complex environments. His foundations in aerospace, astronautical, mechanical, and biomedical engineering provide him with technological diversity, problem-solving skills, and ability to think is systematic ways. His depth in both brain hemispheres allows him to motivate and build great teams while simultaneously implementing technological and organizational solutions.

Morris is a Boston Latino 30 under 30 translational technologist who dabbled in space, digital fabrication, and art before adopting a specialty in biomedical imaging that was still only partially born. His PhD explored the use of non-invasive near-infrared spectroscopy for monitoring brain activity, characterizing breast tumors, and point-of-care mobile devices in developing countries. He invented a portable and wearable functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) brain imaging system to monitor stroke recovery (US Patent Application: 16/519861).

Outside academia, Morris co-founded The Second L (TheSecondL.com), which runs ÉPOCA, multi-day retreats with 100+ attendees that provide new professionals and those seeking transitions in careers and personal life with exposure to growth and wellness tools through experience-based mentorship models. He uses his research and technical experience in his leadership coaching and technical consulting, working with organizations and individuals to enhance their performance within their roles. He uses universal practices and patterns to help people through transformations, by focusing on relevant leadership models, addressing self-sabotage patterns, and using quantitative/qualitative measures of the self.
