Principal Engineer

Overview

For LA Transformations, the Principal Engineer partners with the Principal Consultant and Delivery Executive to ensure the Studio Services are included in the transformation design. They will consult during the creation and execution of the client engagement to ensure the Studio services are properly engaged in support of the strategic goals of the organization and the enterprise strategy.

The Principal Engineer will work in collaboration with the Delivery Executive to ensure the Studios principles and practices are well integrated into LiminalArc’s approach. The Principal Engineer will own the delivery method and PoV with the client while partnering with the Engineering Executive for the LiminalArc Point of View (PoV) for Engineering Practices.

The Principal Engineer will be the leader of all other engineering delivery people on the client team from an Employee Lifecycle Management (ELM) perspective. Finally, the Principal Engineer is responsible to ensure systems, controls, and metrics are in place to ensure consistent delivery of studios engagements.

Classification

This is a partially-billable role (50% expected), with a direct reporting relationship to the Engineering Executive.

Candidates for the role must have a strong background in both Software Craftsmanship and Agile methodologies. They should be charismatic, highly motivated by end results, and have a high tolerance for ambiguity. Additionally, the candidate should have a focus on achieving success through people and be engaged with new best practices and the overall strategy for Agile Engineering.

  Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop Offers and Methodology for how Studios can integrate with and support LiminalArc consulting offers.
  • Define the Services
  • Define the Engagement Model
  • Define the Deliverables
  • Define the Controls
• Collaboratively work with Principal Consultants and Delivery Executives to design client offers.
• Develop benefit cases and devise methods of demonstrating progress toward the desired benefits
• Interact with the leadership of consulting teams to maintain alignment with the outcomes and plans
• Develop plans that are outcome-oriented, actionable, and reflect a deep understanding of the Agile approach
• Manage the execution of Studios Projects
  • Initially lead project execution
  • As the team grows, place and assign people that can manage day-to-day execution
• Build and Lead the team to execute our offer and support our PoV in practice.
  • Assist in getting initial client team hired and formed
  • Develop a partner strategy to ensure qualified engineers are available beyond our salaried studios staff
  • Assist in developing a sustainable hiring and people growth plan
• Work arrangements may include both remote and on-site work, depending on client and team needs; travel to client sites or team meetings may be required.
